Discover the Magic of Bënjë Thermal Waters

Discover Bënjë Thermal Waters in Përmet, Albania — a stunning natural spa surrounded by canyons, mountains, and Ottoman bridges. Perfect for riders seeking rest and adventure.

Tucked deep within the breathtaking valley of Përmet in southern Albania, Ujërat Termale të Bënjës — known in English as the Bënjë Thermal Waters — stand as one of the country’s most extraordinary natural treasures. Surrounded by rugged cliffs, the Lengarica River, and untouched mountain scenery, this destination offers a rare combination of relaxation, adventure, and authentic Albanian charm.

For centuries, the thermal springs of Bënjë have been cherished for their therapeutic benefits. The water, naturally warmed by geothermal activity, flows into several open-air pools, each rich in minerals like sulfur, calcium, and magnesium. Locals believe these waters help soothe muscle pain, improve skin health, and boost circulation. After hours of riding through Albania’s winding mountain roads, these natural pools feel like pure heaven — a well-earned rest for body and mind.

Just a few meters away from the pools lies the Lengarica Canyon, a geological wonder carved by centuries of flowing water. The canyon stretches for several kilometers, with narrow passages, towering rock walls, and natural arches that create an awe-inspiring view. Adventure-seeking riders often take short hikes or guided canyon walks here, discovering hidden caves and crystal streams that make the area even more magical.

Above the canyon stands the Kadiu Bridge, a beautifully preserved Ottoman stone bridge from the 18th century. Once part of historic trade routes linking Përmet with the surrounding villages, today it serves as a picturesque reminder of Albania’s rich history. Standing on the bridge, riders can look down over the turquoise river below — a perfect photo stop during any enduro journey.

The road leading to Bënjë itself is a joy to ride. It winds through the hills of Përmet, offering panoramic views of the Vjosa River Valley — one of Europe’s last wild, free-flowing rivers. The ride to the thermal springs is smooth and scenic, with light off-road sections that make the trip exciting for motorcyclists who love exploring beyond the pavement.

In the nearby town of Përmet, visitors can enjoy traditional Albanian hospitality. Guesthouses and small family-run inns offer cozy rooms and homemade food — including the region’s famous gliko (fruit preserves) and locally produced wine and raki. The town’s friendly atmosphere makes it a perfect stopover for riders looking to rest, refuel, and experience authentic southern Albanian culture.

Whether you’re here for the healing waters, the mountain scenery, or the ride itself, Bënjë Thermal Waters deliver an unforgettable blend of peace and adventure. It’s a destination that captures the essence of Albania — wild, welcoming, and wonderfully alive.
